In addition to content aggregation, in 2015, CATCHPLAY established AsiaPlay Incorporated with the ambition of becoming the leading premium content service provider for movie lovers in Asia. Today, we are the largest provider for premium movie content in Taiwan, aggregating content from Hollywood studios including Disney, Warner Bros., NBC Universal and Paramount in addition to having a wide selection of international independent films and leading local productions for distribution on major operators’ digital platforms. Today, CATCHPLAY continues to look into investment and co-production opportunities internationally and in Asia targeting particularly Chinese-speaking territories and South East Asia following our recent expansion footprints.ĬATCHPLAY started placing significant emphasis on the development of digital movie content years before the others did in Taiwan. In the same year, CATCHPLAY also provided financing and local production support to director Martin Scorsese’s passion project Silence, making it the first international production filmed entirely in Taiwan. CATCHPLAY and partners also control exclusive distribution rights to these films in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and Macau, with The Revenant generating outstanding box office results from these territories in 2016. In early 2015, we closed a partnership deal to invest in New Regency’s three enthralling titles, namely The Revenant, Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell, marking the first investment of a Taiwanese company in major Hollywood productions. Both investments generated considerable box office performance in Taiwan and China respectively. In the same year, we invested in the locally produced film, Paradise in Service and co-produced 20 Once Again with CJ Entertainment for the Chinese market. Reviewed in the United States on 12 August 2019In 2014, in addition to distributing the movies CATCHPLAY loves, we embarked in earnest co-production and investment projects, venturing into content creation. Heaven Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre 2019 - PohKim (Singapore) edition As it stands, I an still quite happy with my purchase and would recommend it to any Jin Yong or Chinese tv series fans. However, a buyer should know of possible problems, even small ones, given the high price for the dvd set. It was not enough to ruin the program for me and I did not contact the seller for a replacement, deeming it more trouble than it's worth. The glitch is annoying, especially with the premium price paid for the NTSC format. On disk 3, there was a spot around 1:56 that froze my Blu-ray player, and on my dvd player, it skipped a minute or two of the program. I don't give 5 stars because of disk quality. All in all, this is an excellent tv series. The changes from good to evil and evil to good were handled well. The villains were evil and heroes heroic. The actress playing Zhao Min especially captured me, but I can't think of one that annoyed me. The quality of the action and the sets and costumes is on par with the 2017 Legend of Condor Heroes. The action is well done and I was quite satisfied. The fights are easy to follow because the camera focuses on the hands, feet and hits. The action uses lots of wirework and minimal CG effects. The subtitles are well done with almost no mistakes, so the story is very easy to follow. The picture is 16:9 and is clear and sharp. Each dvd has 5 episodes and 50 chapters, each one a little over 4 minutes. The box opens to 3 separate dvd holders, each with its own artwork. The dvds play fine on my LG dvd player and my Sony Blu-Ray player. This tv series is NTSC so you do not need a dvd player that does PAL to NTSC conversion.
